Tested by Me: Products I Actually Use

Affiliate disclosure: Tipontech is a participant in the AliExpress Affiliate Program. I may earn a commission if you buy through my links, at no extra cost to you.

Most products on Tipontech are picked from specs, prices and buyer ratings, and I say so on each page. This page is the short list of products I installed and used myself, with what I noticed. It will grow over time. If a product is not listed here, I have not tested it myself.

I installed this camera behind the rear-view mirror of my own car and set it up with the 70mai app.

  • Heat: this summer in Israel the heat inside my car was sometimes extreme, including while it was parked in the sun, and the camera kept working fine. One camera, one car, one summer so far.
  • Memory card: I used a 64 GB card made to survive heat.
  • Phone hotspot tip: turn off your phone’s auto-connect to the camera’s hotspot. If you use your phone as a hotspot for your car’s multimedia system, the auto-connect stopped the multimedia from joining the phone’s hotspot and got in the way of Waze for me.

These notes cover heat, setup and Wi-Fi. They are not a video-quality review. The full comparison with the other budget dash cams is in my dash cam guide.
