A wireless charger that will not charge is usually misaligned, blocked by a case or plate, or short of power from its adapter.
1. Line Up the Coils
Wireless charging depends on the phone’s coil sitting over the charger’s coil. Move the phone slightly until it starts to charge.
2. Take Off the Case
Thick or metal-backed cases can block charging. Try without the case.
3. Remove Metal Plates, Rings and Magnets
A metal plate for a magnetic car mount, a ring holder or a wallet card can stop charging and cause heat. Move them or use a case designed for wireless charging.
4. Use a Proper Adapter
Use a wall adapter and cable that can supply enough power. A weak adapter, especially a computer USB port, often gives slow or no wireless charging.
5. Clear the Surface
Keep the pad clean, and make sure no coins or keys are on it.
6. Let It Cool
Wireless charging pauses if the phone or pad gets hot. Remove the case and cool the phone down.
7. Check Phone Support
Check the phone supports the wireless standard the charger uses. Some fast wireless charging needs matching devices.
8. Try Another Cable, Adapter or Pad
Swap parts one at a time to find the faulty one.
