Bluetooth Speaker Won’t Pair, Sounds Quiet or Won’t Charge? Fixes

Bluetooth speaker problems nearly always come down to pairing state, volume settings or the charging cable. Start with the section that matches your problem.

Speaker Won’t Pair

  • Turn the speaker off and on, and hold the Bluetooth button until it flashes or announces pairing mode.
  • Forget the speaker in your phone’s Bluetooth list and pair again.
  • Check it is not connected to another device, since many speakers reconnect to the last one they used.
  • Move closer, and keep the speaker away from other wireless devices and thick walls.
  • Reset the speaker using the method in its manual.

Sounds Too Quiet

  • Turn up the volume on both the speaker and the phone.
  • On some Android phones, disabling “absolute volume” in developer options fixes volume mismatch.
  • On iPhone, check that volume limit and Reduce Loud Sounds are off.
  • Check any EQ or sound mode setting.
  • Place the speaker on a hard surface, not in a bag or on a soft cushion.

Won’t Charge

  • Try another cable and another charger, ideally a normal 5V USB charger.
  • Clean the charging port of dust and lint.
  • A completely flat battery can take some time before the indicator shows charging.
  • If it still fails, the battery or port may be faulty.
